Hello summer!

June 21st marked the official start of the summer season. What better way to spend your summer than enjoying all of the events and activities Orange County has to offer. Warmer months are the perfect time for you and your family to get outdoors and PLAY some way. Make the most of your summer vacation by actively participating in one or all of the events listed on the myHEALTHoc calendar.   1. Attend a farmers market

Farmers markets make for an awesome family outing. Not only do you get a chance to explore seasonal produce and yummy food tastings, there’s also live music for your enjoyment. Dance the day away to a few of Orange County’s local music artist while enjoying everything the farmers market has to offer. Stay local and visit one of the farmers markets close to your home or if you’re feeling adventurous, visit a farmers market you’ve never been to before.   1. Get your kids involved in the Summer Park Program

Get your kids active this summer with the Summer Park Program. Children aged 6-12years can participate in the FREE drop-in program held at various park locations in Buena Park and Westminster. Boys and girls will have fun participating in games, crafts, and sports activities taking place throughout the summer. Registration for this program is not required, so drop in on any one of the parks listed below to get your children involved. For a listing of Buena Park parks click here.   1. Yoga for kids at Minnie St. FRC

Every Monday and Thursday the Minnie Street Family Resource Center is offering free yoga classes for children aged 5-12years old. Kids will have fun learning the techniques for self-health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment. Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with physical activity.   1. Zumba class

If you love to dance like we do, this is the perfect dance class for you. Every Monday, at the Stanton Community Center you can get active by dancing to fun Latin and International music all awhile receiving an effective workout. Children aged 9 years and older are welcome. Details

  1. Attend a healthy eating class

Would you like to learn how to start your own herb garden or prepare a healthy meal for your family? Well Wholefoods is here to help! Every Monday during the month of June Chef Cintia the Healthy Eating Specialist will be showing you how to cook delicious, fresh and fun recipes!

  1. Nutrition class for kids at the Stanton community center

Every Thursday from 4-5pm children can learn the basics behind nutrition. Children will have the opportunity to learn about fruits and vegetables and prepare healthy meals. For additional information please click here.

  1. Join the Corbin FRC walking group

Gather your friends and family for the Corbin Family Resource Center walking group. Enjoy an afternoon of walking every Wednesday from 4:30 till 5:30pm. All families are welcome. Prizes every week! Walking Group Flyer
